Obituary for Klaus Steinbrenner

Klaus Steinbrenner 05/30/1935 – 10/11/2017
After a severe bicycle accident, Klaus Steinbrenner died on October 11th, 2017 at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

Klaus was born in Frankfurt, Germany and moved to the US in 1968 with his wife Karin. He became well known working as a sculptor in Chicago. He invented new forms with the cube as the base for his creations. Many of his sculptures are carved out of or constructed using stone, wood and painted plywood. Taking away from the block he created negative spaces within it while always maintaining its original outline. His work is displayed in many private and public collections.
